Bright light was streaming through the window all night and we were then woken up at 8am by builders.roght outside the window. I know we didn't pay much for the room, but that is shocking.
the hotel on a good day could be described as characterful.a distinctive non chain vicarage reflecting the buildings past. some effort had been made with the rooms. mine had light white walls with minimalist lamp fittings. blinds on high windows adding space and texture. apparently the microwave, fridge and kettle are for long stay guests, with a security safe for your stash should you need it.if on a budget I would recommend the Hillingdon Prince. an independent hotel with a hint of Fawlty about the place, but witout the antics.
I am a travelling consultant and spend a lot of time in and out of hotels. The Hotel and the staff, I have no issues with at all. However having spent a number of weeks staying here. I am not impressed at the pricing which varies from week to week. Normally I would negotiate a deal for the duration of my stay which could be for months. Having approached the hotel there was no negotiation on the prices at all. It was purely book online and use the PClub code. Yes this gives a discount but the prices have varied from 50 per night to 70 per night. As this hotel is convenient to my workplace, i am using this until next week. As I will return to reading again. This hotel "i will not be using" due to the unprofessional pricing policies.
Although a 2 star hotel, worth 5 stars for convenience, friendly staff and comfort. Basic accommodation but all you need. Second time we have used it and will definitely book again.
