We recently went through a very difficult 9 months with a Tennant who was not paying rent. As any landlord who has had to evict someone will know, it's a lengthy court process. As we are not in the UK most of the time now it was more difficult. Romans were very supportive through the process and often went over and above with court appearances, meeting bailiffs and general on the spot management. Great service.
Absolutely diabolical from start to finish. Extortionate fees (approx 3x more than I paid my previous estate agents and at least double what I have paid any other company); poor communication between staff members resulting in my having to take a morning off work to deal with an ID issue; messed us around twice with moving dates; as a management company they are no better - you are forced to use their FixFlo system to report faults and then nothing ever comes of it - then when you have something fixed yourself they have a go at you; getting stroppy when you dont follow the rules in their welcome pack but then when you do they look at you blankly and tell you its not necessary; upon informing them that I had moved out had to remind the same member of staff three times to call the remaining tenant and not me; the list goes on.Besides one particularly helpful member of staff - Katrina, whom I couldnt fault at all - my advice would be to avoid this branch/company like the plague.
Romans are the only agents I know who will not blink an eyelid or catch a split seconds' sleep until they find a suitable place that you are gonna be most happy with. They sincerely share in your need to have a house and can relate with you from a genuinely concerned perspective.This has been the case with me and my wife and now we are happy to have waited on Romans to come through. The process was easy and when it had to be tailored to our timing, Romans was able to get their F1 speed on for our sake.Big thanks to the team in Caversham, they are my favorites.
