Certainly a hidden gem! Run by volunteers this small museum is all about the history of aviation in Berkshire and the old airfield at Woodley. There are a lot of models inside the building as well as photos and aircraft sections. Volunteers take it in turns to circulate in the building if you have any questions. The gem is the Herald outside! It's worth visiting just to see how well kept it is outside. You can even look inside of it at the interior which is very well kept.If you decide you want refreshments you can get a basic tea / coffee and biscuits as well as buy a few items and books from the shop.

A little gem of a place. Very friendly and knowledgeable volunteer staff. The museum is packed with an incredible amount of information which is well displayed. I was pleasantly surprised to find the entrance price was a lot cheaper than I was expecting. All in all it is well worth a visit and will definitely be going back again.
What this aviation museum lacks in size it makes up in quality: the quality of the restorations is amazing, the models on display are unique (including a Polaris SLBM upper stage) and the volunteers are all experts with careers in aerospace, happy to answer all your questions. Some of the more arcane objects on display will enthrall the aeronautics enthusiast: ejection seats, weapon release mechanisms, Bell X1 precursor wind tunnel model... A fantastic museum which will take a few visits to fully explore!
