Alex and the team at A B Walker were so kind and compassionate. Nothing was too much trouble. We were delighted with the funeral service brochure, the celebrant and the intimate chapel like room for the service at A B Walker in Reading. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
We have used this funeral director twice in the last year and have found their service to be somewhat poor, first off they took ages collecting the body from the hospital which then only left family with 1 day to view our loved one and say goodbye which we felt was unacceptable. We used them again a year later and at no point were we informed we had to request the embalming service and that we had to ask them to apply makeup, so when we went to see our loved one nothing couldve prepared us for what we saw it was absolutely horrendous and now the family have to live with that as our last memory. The only positive thing is that on the day of the funeral the drivers were very respectful,friendly and made sure we were all handed umbrellas as it was raining heavy.
Alison and the team have been nothing but outstanding from start to finish in helping with my Dads funeral. When we saw the horses and carriage arrive with my father we all stood speechless, you completely exceeded yourselves and helped us see my Dad had the special day he deserved.
