The products were great, they knew a lot about the coffees they were serving and products are homemade. The service however let it down, we weren't welcomed even though many staff were present and not busy. I didn't feel like I could relax because the tables are close together but the rustic interior is great.
My go to place for an amazing coffee and a slice of cake. The staff is really friendly and the service is fast. If you have a good weather, the outside seating is perfect!
I liked the place but didn't like that I have to go and pick up my coffee myself. I noticed one of the girls just using an older filter that was previously used. That changes the flavor for sure . I hope they pay attention to these details.
If you would like to have a drink of a proper coffee that's the only place to go in Reading town. If you are lucky enough to get served by Greg your coffee tastes extra real. Stories of the beans sourcing are truly amazing, do ask!
Amazing coffee. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Beautiful cakes and assortment of sweet and savoury food options. It's hard to find coffee shops that make filter coffee and Workhouse does it properly. Lots of different coffee to choose from, both single origin and blends. They roast themselves... I could go on. Just get down and visit them! Oh, I think it's once a month, they have a coffee tasting session that's free to anyone to join. Usually on a Saturday evening. I went to one last month. Lots of coffees all from 1 farm in Brazil. So many different flavours, can't believe it was all from one farm. Workhouse is a great place to learn more about coffee.
