Wow wow wow what an experience , I invited a 6 group of friends to go out for a Nigeria meal and what an ordeal it turned into.1. Meals prices had gone up by an average of 2, however the menus had not been updated to reflect the changes. The increase itself isn't an issue until you read the point 2 - 5 below.2. We ordered an extra starter and that came towards the end of the main meal and was wrong 3. Food orders came out at different times including a wrong order, so some people had finished eating before others had arrived otherwise their food would have been cold.4. One person's meal was missed completely and was so upset he told the staff not to bother especially after he heard point 5 5. Egusi soup was bland and my point of reference is that I'm a regular so I know it could have been much better, there were also complaints about the fried rice being to salty, platain being to dry and rice was cold .We explained this to the Manger/Owner to give him a chance to try and improve our experience. I said how can I bring people back here or come back if they or I get this experience his response was "I do not like being threatened and I will not be able to do anything other than remove the item that you never recieved"My point is if you are going to increase your prices to an average of 16 per main we would expect you to also improve the quality of the service and food. The basics of being in the service industry and things in your control, are getting the service and your products right, as customers we can forgive most other issues if this is done right
Dont be fooled by the looks of it. This place is very nice. Heard about it from a friend who Really likes the food. Decor is beautiful. Portions are big! food is really tasty. We were the only ones there on a Tuesday 17.40. Took the kitchen 15min to have our food ready. Prices are ok. same price you pay at TGI, Franco, Wagamamas, starters from 8 and main meal 12-17 It is a good place to take friends or family members. It's surprisingly very wheelchair friendly !
Very disappointed with the bowl of snail I ordered today. I was sold 3 half snails for 15. It was not my first time buying snails from 805 in Reading but todays purchase was rather disappointing. I believe they were low on snails and still wanted to make profit. Dont think Ill be going back.
If you like chilli (scotch bonnet level) this is the place to go. This is West African cuisine which has a lot of grilled meat and fish and fried plantains. The Jollof rice is fantastic and something everyone who tries West African cuisine for the first time must have. Reading has plenty of predictable large chain restaurants, this is something different that you won't find everywhere (except their two other branches in London!) They also do takeaway if you don't want to be seen sweating in the restaurant on account of the chilli's.
What a nice pleasant surprise to find this place. Decor is modern and simple. Food was a nice delight. Ordered croaker fish for one main and mixed grill for another. Both delicious. Be careful the chilli.... Did not have the smooth operation of a well oiled restaurant machine but staff were helpful and would go again.
