What's going on with Railair lately? About a week ago Sunday I dropped my son as usual at the Reading station to catch an afternoon bus only to find that it left 2 mins ahead of the scheduled time and she missed it. Now I have just dropped my son again on a Monday morning to catch the 4:00am one... luckily we arrived at 3:56am and thought she still had plenty of time but only to find that the bus left at exactly 3:57am. We live nearly and by the time my car got back home, the radio in the car just started to play the 4am news... Looks like we have to be there 5 mins before scheduled time from now on but what about other passengers?
Quick trip from Reading to Guildford today. Picked up my pre ordered tickets from one of the many automated machines. Trains on time.
Very impressed with all the new building of Reading Station. Its bigger now then I remember it in the past. Trains Buses, Air-coaches to Gatwick and Heathrow all from Reading Station. Busy hub of Reading centre.
ON RETURNING FROM NYC TO TERMINAL 3 .. BOOKED 2 TICKETS IN ADVANCE , FOUND OUT THEY DID NOT PICK UP FROM THERE?TOLD WE HAD TO GO TO THE MAIN BUS TERMINAL , A WALK OF A LEAST A MILE !!? WE HAD 4 CASES AND ARE IN OUR LATE 70S !A VERY HOT DAY, NO RESPONSE OR HELP FROM THE DRIVER WHO WAS DRINKING FROM A BOTTLE ALL THE WAY TO READING !RANG RAILAIR NO JOY THERE , TOLD OH ITS ONLY A SHORT WALK , THEN THEY PUT THE PHONE DOWN , SPOILT OUR HOLIDAY
A much revamped and new station but, strangly held back by it's 70's booking hall. When I was passing through, the vast majority of the up-Escalators from the platforms were out of use! Network Rail at it again....
